IVAN'S Bar -- its story ..
When Hurricane Ivan visited Jamaica , he didn't hit the entire island with his full wrath. Veering west at the last moment, Ivan downgraded from a Category 5 to a Category 4 hurricane before hitting the coast of Jamaica . It has been said there was a lot of praying and that perhaps Jah influenced his change in direction and force.
Being that Catcha Falling Star is located on the western coast of Jamaica (why our sunsets are so sensational), Catcha bore the brunt of Ivan's anger.
Catcha Falling Star's beautiful Almond tree, which stood as a lone sentinel on the cliff for many years, had finally succumbed to Ivan. It's been said that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. But a negative soon became a positive.
 
This strong and proud tree, a true survivor, became the inspiration and, in fact, an important structural component for Ivan's Bar. Ivan's is open for our guests and friends of Catcha.
To maintain our private atmosphere at Catcha, seating is limited to Catcha's guests and their friends! And don't forget the Ivan's Bar Restaurant, featuring a full Caribbean menu.
